Ask Yunji
Dear Yunji,

What is a good way to relax in DC  during the weekend without spending very much money?

A Friend of Yours

Dear Friend,

I write this particular column in a celebratory mood for two reasons: 1) I am doing something constructive during Snowpocalypse 2010, and 2) I have a friend~!

The standard way to relax in DC cheaply would be to enjoy the many beautiful and free sights the city has to offer.  You can stroll around the monuments, sit and gaze at the Renoirs in the Smithsonian, or go for a run through Rock Creek Park and past the pandas (minus the recently FedExed Tai Shan) in the zoo.

But the whole point of a law student's weekend isn't necessarily to unwind (let's face it; very few of us have the ability to do that anymore). The real point is to balance out all the intellectual endeavors and neurotic relationships we partake in during the rest of the week: the point, in other words, is to dumb ourselves down as much as possible. Read a tabloid, or watch a Pauly Shore movie.  You may even try watching "The Deep End."

It's possible a friend or roommate will walk by and raise his eyebrows to your newfound lowbrow taste.  But don't worry.  You can look him straight in the eye and declare with all sincerity, you're doing it for your health.

Happy Indulgences,

Yunji
